Gregory Baltoro 70 Backpacking Pack
This pack is ideal for helping a hiker stay organized on the trail. It has three access points into the main compartment and a large front pocket. You can get to your gear through the top, the bottom or access it from the inside of the front access port.
A great point for the Baltoro 70 is the pivoting frame. It actually responds to your movements as you are walking, climbing or hiking. Reviews state that you can carry loads up to fifty pounds very comfortably because of the pivoting response mechanism.
It has a waterproof bottom, stretch side pockets and a hydration sleeve. One review summary stated that it “combines easy access with bombproof construction.” Although it has a waterproof bottom, you would probably want to get a specially designed waterproof cover.
In our opinion and in that of professional reviewers and owners alike, this is a great pick that any hiker would be proud to own.

Osprey Atmos 50 Backpack
The Osprey Atmos 50 Backpack was the winner of Outside Magazine’s Gear Of The Year Award.
Since then the manufacturers have upgraded it even more. It now has a new low profile back panel which puts the pack in a closer proximity with your back. This design gives you even better support for the heavy loads and more comfort for long hiking trips.
It has a number of strategically placed pockets. The large front flap helps you pack everything in a better way. You also have the mesh back panel and straps that ‘breathe’ so you can stay cooler on long hikes in hot weather.
Again, this is one of the “Award Winning” professional backpacks that have been recently improved. After reading the reviews, you may have difficulty choosing between this great pack and the Gregory Baltoro 70 pack. Either one would be great backpacks you could be proud of for years to come and miles of hiking experience.

The Gregory Whitney Backpack or more precisely, the Gregory Whitney 95 Backpack, is one of the massive professional backpacks in our review.
I will haul as much gear as you could need in the back country. It will pack enough for those week-long trips.
Again, it is a quality professional grade backpack with great reviews. It can also give you a great fit.
The Gregory Response CFS suspension system has five points of adjustment. Thus, you can make precise adjustments very easily to get just the right fit. It too, responds and moves with your actions whether walking or climbing. This helps eliminate rubbing and chaffing contact points.
It has top, side, front, and bottom access. You don’t ever have to unload the whole pack to get at something. Just open an access point. It has numerous pockets to help organize your contents.
